The league is dire need of volunteers to keep the league running, please help Santa Rosa Youth Athletics keep providing baseball to our kids.
The current Santa Rosa Youth Athletics Board of Directors is looking for volunteers to join the board of directors to help manage the league. We need board members to meet our obligation we have committed to City of San Fernando and our bylaws of the league. If the league is unable to meet its obligation to the City of San Fernando, we will be in violation of our contract and the City of San Fernando may revoke our permits to use the fields. If you are interested in joining the board, please reach out to any current board member by email or in person. The league can only be successful with the help from volunteers.

MINUTES OF MEETING OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS

A regular meeting of the board of directors of Santa Rosa Youth Athletics (the “League”) was held at the Las Palmas Park Recreation Center in the City of San Fernando on May 13, 2019, at 6:15 p.m. in accordance with the League’s bylaws.
- The following directors were present, with Michael McCollum, as Secretary, keeping minutes:
2. The meeting was called to order by the President, with the following matters discussed and/or voted upon:
a. The fall ball schedule was discussed. The league will start to accept registration for the fall season. The league will likely want to schedule a tournament for September and also do the Toys-for-Tots tournament in December.
b. Discussion was had regarding the April 11, 2018 and May 10, 2018 finance committee meetings. At those meetings and again at this board meeting a register of income and P&L statement were presented, which are attached to these minutes. Discussion was also had about switching to a cash-in cash-out accounting method, as well as ideas for increasing revenue and volunteer support at the snackbar and for umpires. Ideas including collecting fees from members at the beginning of the season which fees would be returned once the member fulfills a volunteer requirement at the snackbar, and asking team managers to volunteer umpire in games in other divisions, or older kids from upper divisions to pair up and umpire games in lower divisions.
c. Forty Eight players were registered for this last season. For the All Stars, one team from the Bronco division will attend.
d. Discussion was had about the need to try to revisit the contract with the city on the issue of charging fees for tournaments, since the fee charge for tournaments hampers the leagues ability to raise money from tournaments. This issue was tabled for future discussion
e. Discussion was had whether to do a formal closing ceremonies. A motion was made and voted upon to not do a closing ceremonies due to the current small size of the league and instead each team will instead pick up their own pictures. One team may do a potluck in the park.
